Hello there.

It seems that update Inv 2021 to 2022 create a brand new installation.

My question is very simple :

May i uninstall Inventor 2021 after this update ?

Thank you.

You can, just make sure you have copies of any material/appearance libraries that you may have altered and make sure they have carried over to the new install.

I've uninstalled an old version before and lost stuff like that.

Check where your design data location points to to make sure it's not referencing the old one.

Hi! Like James said, each Inventor release is a separate product. They don't share install. They can be installed or uninstalled individually. They can co-exist on the same computer.

Many thanks!

If I uninstall Inventor 2021, will I lose all my drawings, or will I still be able to access them in Inventor 2022?

You do not lose any of your drawings etc.

Hi! Uninstalling Inventor 2021 loses the ability to author or edit Inventor files on 2021. All your existing Inventor files can be viewed and edited on Inventor 2022 (but not the other way around).

Many thanks!

Just to clarify what Johnson said. You can edit 2021 drawings in 2022, but
they get migrated so will no longer open/edit in 2021. You'll still be able
to fully edit and view in 2022 though.
