Does anyone know of a program that is capable of unfolding a shape as attached?
I've tried "SmartUnfold" from Solid3DTech but is giving me way too many line segs.
Thanks
John

Unfold which part?..There are multiple parts (some sheet metalish..many not) in that funky image..
If you used something like that for smartunfold..no wonder its not working.

There is the front skin, 2 side skins, and the skin in the center. I seperated each skin, not trying
to get 1 shape for the whole thing.

I consult with someone who does similar work.
I do not see anything that Inventor will not unfold (if modeled correctly).
Attach your files here.

File attached. dwg 2007 format. Model is profiles extruded, boolean sub, and sliced.
Thanks,

I see multiple simple 1 direction curved panels that are then welded together to form the final shape.. This is 100% possible to model and unfold each piece in Inventor.
No program will unfold that as a whole/single piece and they don't need to because its not made that way in the real world.
