Unable to post assembly file

Hi!

I have some questions regarding DS and animation of a boring head assembly.

When I posted the assembly file, no parts showed up on the other end.

I can open it just fine. When I extract it from a zip file, I only get one file, the assembly, no parts.

So, how do I make it so the parts will show up?

Do I create a new folder and bunch all the part(ipt.) files and the assembly(iam.) together and post the whole thing? That can't work, can it?

This shouldn't be so difficult; I don't know what's going on.

Can someone please explain exactly what I need to do.

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards.

Rok

Hi Walter!

Thank you so much.

I'm learning a lot from this. I wonder, is it possible to carefully assemble the parts and layer the constraints, so the assembly won't be overconstrained in DS.  Right now, I have the small shafts and worm gear working. If I could only constrain the spindle to the feed ring(maybe by only mating the small key to the spindle keyway) without losing the worm gear cylindrical joint.

I know, I'm pushing it.

Kind regards.

Rok

Hi Rok,

it's time for changes:

- Create a sub-assy for all fixed parts. It's easier to overlook.

- The VRETENO - .... sub-assy should better be without the outer parts (Polzev zobnik, Pokrov zobnika), because they are rotating against the inner parts. The position of the axial bearings is not critical, they are only dummies.

I think, you must live with an over-constrained system in this special task.

Hi

This DS stuff is too hard for me.

I'm having more success with animation, but it's still tricky to ilustrate the mechanism movement to someone seeing it for the first time

Anyway, thanks for your effort.

Rok
