Unable to create a Shell of this shape

Whenever I attempt to create a shell of this shape it tells me this:

Does anyone have any ideas how to overcome this - as I need to make a shell of this exact shape?

What do you want to Shell?

The Tires?

The Roll Bar?

The Mirrors?

The Body?

What thickness is the Shell? Same for all components of the design?

Are there any unresolved issues indicated in the Browser history?

If you go to the Manage tab and select Rebuild All - are any issues indicated?

I want to shell the body, I will add the tires, roll bar and mirrors later which is why there are sketches there for them.

From what I can tell, the unresolved issues are just where the sketches are gonna be used

Then you should Shell the body in history BEFORE the Mirrors, Wheels, Roll Bar are created.

I haven't actually created the mirrors, wheels or roll bar yet, just the sketches so I know where they go when I actually decide to make them - once I've made the shell.
The problem is it won't let me make the shell and gives the error message at the start of the thread.

What do you call these components?

oh right in my model it doesn't show that they're there - I may have uploaded the wrong version of the file, my bad.

Too many nodes in the spline for Sketch1.

Use a few as possible.

Extrude 4 does not make logical sense.

the main reason is it is a drawing imported from illustrator taken from an image so there are many nodes as there were in the drawing.

The extrude is because I needed to have that shape but couldn't extrude to that face as there were multiple faces there so it wouldn't let me (I am relatively new to doing this so don't know all the tips and tricks).

I'll have a go at it again using fewer nodes.

Post your progress often - don't wait till you get into deep water.

Don't leave issues unresolved in the browser.  Fix them as they occur or stop, undo the step that caused issue and ask questions.

I wouldn't use anything imported from Illustrator.
You can bring in image and trace your own clean geometry over the image.

Hi James,

I think there are a few places having unclean intersection or near tangent edges/faces. The geometry becomes unnecessarily complicated and Inventor has trouble creating the shell by offsetting the faces. Please take a look at the attached part. I use Delete Face/Heal to clean up the bad geometry. The Shell can work up to fairly large thickness.

Many thanks!
