Two piece mold from part?

Hello everyone, 

I`m trying to make a top and bottom mold so I can make this part on a hydraulic press. 
I have tried everything, trimming, splitting , combining, copying surfaces, stitching and nothing seems to work.

Can you please help me?

Excuse the cube since it's just an example but is this the sort of mold you are after?

To do that I surrounded the part you want to mold in an extrude as a new solid body, combined cut them, split the body and then use make components to send each body to an assembly file.

thank you, but that is not what i am looking to get. What i need is not a casting mold but a press mold, a stamp-die kind of thing. 

I need to make the other side on a mill, but I cant seem to make the tool models, I will share the part so maybe someone can tell if I modeled the part wrong. Basically, what I am trying to achieve is to extend the surfaces from the inside of the cone down to a solid body, and cut out the outer surface of the part from a solid body, and use them as a top and bottom half in the press. Replace face does not work, combine commands do nothing, I can even convert it to one smooth surface, I have tried everything i read online. Sculpt produces nothing, I selected the part surface, a workplane bellow and even two additional planes on the sides.

Here is the part, I am trying to make a top and bottom "stamp" kind of mold, the bottom piece will be "bumped" out and the top piece is "cut into", hope this makes things clearer. Scroll down for a pic of the bottom piece, it was made before my time so we are trying to do better now.

thank you, thats pretty much it, although I would probably have to tweak the sides a bit so the sheet doesn`t get cut off. can you explain how you did this please?

Hi! I believe JD uses Autodesk Inventor Mold workflows. You can google the terms "Autodesk Inventor Mold" and there should be plenty of instructional videos to show you how to do that.

Start with a Mold Design Template -> select the part -> follow the wizard.

I think, mold tool is not the very best for this task. Normally the dividing surfaces in molds extend perpendicular to the opening direction, but that's not the best for pressing.

I've made an initial attempt with ruled surfaces. Perhaps some problems will show at the red surface markers.

First thing I did is rotate the part 30 deg.
