Tube & Pipe: Rotation and Flow Direction Errors

Hi All,

I am looking to draw some attention to T&P Rotation and Flow Direction Errors. These have been consistent for many years and 2022 hasn't seen them improve. If you replace or change fitting size or replace a fitting in any way the Rotation and Flow Direction of the fitting is not preserved resulting in utter chaos when runs, fittings and routes are updated to follow their connections.

An example changing material of multiple gaskets causes all runs to flip flow direction or rotation. If your lucky it will only change rotation. I am forced to replace one gasket at a time and solve the errors it brings. Replacing all just brings up a total mess.

Can the developers please look into checking and matching the xyz orgin axes when a fitting member is replaced? It is just doing it randomly at the moment. I can understand it happening for new placed fittings not modeled about the same x axis but it is doing it for same family members which shouldn't be the case.

Edit: Added video from Inv 2020.

Would you be able to share a small assembly where you see this happening? I have never seen this behavior consistently, in fact pretty rarely.  I’d like to see if I, or others, can find some clue to why this keeps happening to you.

Hi Chris, Thanks for responding. Here is a simple sample created in 2020. Try and change the gasket size or use replace from content center in Assembly fittings. Watch the route go haywire. The same will happen in 2022 as well.
