trouble constraining part

I have watched just about every video and read every post on this topic that i could find but im still unable to figure out how to contrain this crankshaft to get it to rotate on the correct axis. I tried every axis combination i could think of and the best i did was to get it to rotate end over end which wont cut it. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jason,

This is a school project right? I vaguely remember seeing the exact same question last year or the year before. Anyway, you only attached an iam file which is not enough. Please attach all the ipt and iam files in the file folder.

If I recalled correctly, the issue has something to do with how you constrain the shaft. You need to make sure the shaft and the axes of cylinders should be co-planar.

Many thanks!

i will add those files but i only have 3 parts so far for the component. i
figured i would go ahead and make that my base part and get it contrained
so that as i finish each part i can drop it in the assymbly and get it
constrained. i was going to do that instead of waiting until all my parts
are complete to start assembeling. It will be a long time before all the
parts are ready but if i can just figure out this camshaft constraint i
should be able to handle the rest.
