Transparent bodies in iPart does not show when inserted.

I modeled an iPart of a window and frame.  The part is made from multiple bodies and I changed the apparence of the bodies to match the desired look (transparent glass). The part looks fine when in the part document, however, when the iPart is inserted in an assembly the window body looses it's transparency.

Can someone point me in the right direction to fit this issue.

Thanks!

Hi! This is a limitation unfortunately. Actually, it has nothing to do with iPart itself. Inventor supports face, feature, body, and whole part appearance. To avoid seeing into a solid body partially, face and feature appearance removes transparency.

iPart member is actually a derive part from the iPart factory. The appearance from the factory is mapped as face or feature appearance. As a result, the transparency is removed.

iPart was designed to create library components like nuts and bolts for reuse purpose. I believe you are trying to create different styles of the parts. You may want to use iLogic and iLogic Design Copy to spwan variations. Then the transparency will be retained.

Many thanks!
