Hey Guys ,

Is it possible to create a hole dimension style in drawing to show only the hole size as M6 and not as M6 X 0.5 ? Please see the below image.

Hello @Aadithya01

If you left click on the Dimension, and select, Edit Hole Note. You can delete what you want to leave M6.

You can change the styles by. Left click on Dimension, select, New Dimension Style. And create a New Dimension Style.

Hope this helps,

Thomas.

Edit the dimension style used for this hole note:

Remove the text circled in red.  Note, though, that this edit only applies to (in this example) Thru - Full Thread holes; use the pull-down menu to select and edit other threaded hole types.

Edit: see @WHolzwarth's post below-- what I wrote above is incorrect.

Simplest way for me seems changing some entries in Thread.xls at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 20xx\Design Data\XLS\de-DE (or en-US or another language)

Walter is correct, and my suggestion is not!  The [THRC] field is Thread Class, not pitch-- the pitch is included in the Thread Designation [THDCD] field, and this must be edited in the Thread.xls spreadsheet.

Sorry for the misinformation.

The pitch is important and if you remove it then you open yourself up to getting parts made with an incorrect tap size..

Hi @WHolzwarth

Thankyou so much that worked.

Also @mcgyvr - I can understand that the thread pitch is important . But still my customer is insisting that he doesn't want to see the pitch.

Make sure you have it in writing that the customer has requested that the pitch information be removed from a drawing so when the parts are messed up they can't blame you for such a poor decision..
