Tiny icons in file open window

As the title suggests, when I go to navigate to a new file the icons for 'back', 'up one level',  'new folder' and 'view menu' are tiny.

I am new to windows 10 so this may not be the place to post this but as it only occurs with inventor I though it must be an inventor setting?

Can anyone advise?

Thanks.Tiny Icons.png

Hello!

This is most likely hardware related.  What type of machine are you working on?

Hi! This should be related to the graphics setting. Go to Windows Display Settings. Change the DPI to bigger values or reduce the resolution.

Many thanks!

Hi Chris,

Im running a Dell Precision 3630 Tower.

But during this covid lockdown Im working from home and using a Samsung TV as a montior. I wonder if thats relevant.

I tried changing the resolution but it had no effect.

Thanks for your help.

You could try to modify the high DPI settings...

Right Mouse Click on the desktop shortcut for Inventor (or Taskbar if you have it there).  Right Click again on the Inventor launch icon, select Properties.  Go to Compatibility tab.  Select Change High DPI Settings.  At the bottom you should see High DPI Scaling Override.  Check the box, then grab the pulldown menu.  there are three options in there, USUALLY one of them will make things appear more normal.... I say usually because this is not always the case.  But I would try cycling through these to see if it makes any difference to you.  If not, set it back the way it was and we'll see if we can think of anything else.

I will say that this is probably caused by working remotely, I've seen it many times.

@johnkeane440

I discovered this when I was setting up users who were using Microsoft Surfaces, and a laptop as a second monitor.... the graphics were NEVER right, so I started playing with that setting and was usually able to find just the right combination.

Glad it helped!
