I not sure exactly what you need to do with the image but you can insert the tiff image into AutoCAD. I have do this and scaled the image so it checked 1:1. -- Byron Newton "Brian Land" wrote in message news:4058ba04$1_3@newsprd01... > it seems that the format of choice now that we get our 2d dwgs in is tiff > files, using the default viewer in win xp right now but it runs extremely > slow, anybody know of any good viewers maybe even a free one... even > better... a way to get tiff data into inventor... > bl > > -- > Brian Land > Mechanical Design > Lorik Tool Inc. > (931) 762-3495 > >

There is a windows version of Gimp, a Photoshop clone for Linux. Menus take some getting used to but a good program. Just install "GTK+ for Windows" then "Gimp for Windows" from the link below. More info can be found at www.gimp.org Download is at: http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/stable.html "Brian Land" wrote in message news:4058ba04$1_3@newsprd01... > it seems that the format of choice now that we get our 2d dwgs in is tiff > files, using the default viewer in win xp right now but it runs extremely > slow, anybody know of any good viewers maybe even a free one... even > better... a way to get tiff data into inventor... > bl > > -- > Brian Land > Mechanical Design > Lorik Tool Inc. > (931) 762-3495 > >

I have used XnView for several years. It's free and has lots of features, can even do snapshots (screendumps). http://www.xnview.com/ Bob S.
