Is it possible to get threads to display in views using the style shown in the hole dialog? See below.

Sure is...

Are you talking about drawing views? If so edit the base view.. Go to the "Display Options" tab and check "Thread Feature"

In the model files you will get a "cosmetic representation" as it does not actually model threads.. Maybe thats what you were asking about..

Thanks, but I have that checked. The question is not whether threads are displayed, but the style. In the pic shown, they are represented by lines perpendicular to the profile and spaced by TPI. In my view, all I get is two hidden lines parallel to the profile.

I have never seen Schematic Representation of threads in Inventor, SolidWorks or Creo.

Would have to create a Sketched Symbol for that AFAIK.

Bummer. Displaying it in the hole dialog seems to indicate that it would be. Very misleading.

Ha.. ha.. Yes Inventor (and most other cad programs I've seen) use the simplified thread display method vs schematic representation..

I was a bit confused by "using the style" shown in the image... I assumed incorrectly there.. Thats life..

The way threads show up in drawings is correct to the current standard.

The way it's shown on the dialogue hadn't been standard for more than 20 years!

Good eye for detail, that icon needs updating ; )

Guess I've been around too long, shows how old our drawings are! I'm just starting with Inventor.
