Third angle projection symbol

IV11, SP1

Is there a symbol I can insert into my titleblock for Third angle projection
already in Inventor or do I need to create my own? If so, what's the best
way to go about that?

Robert-

To follow up on your question (as you probably are already aware), we don't
supply that functionality right now. I have entered your wish into our
system as ID# 811967.

If you have other information included that is constant in your title blocks
(tolerance callouts, etc.) which is currently not provided, please post a
screen capture so we can add it to the ID#.

Thanks.

Only takes about 5 minutes to create a Sketched Symbol that can be added to template.

We just have it as a part of our title block.  If you do that, you never have to insert it separately at all.

Of course, that logic only makes sense at a company that only uses one projection type - if you switch back and forth, you'd have to use differing title blocks.

And if you add the same need for elements like logos shapes, and so on, are you willing to spend 5 minutes x element every time?

Hi soctavio,

Typically we set up these symbols in the template (or in Inventor 2017 you can use a Symbols Library) and then reuse them. There shouldn't be any need to recreate them every time.

Or am I misunderstanding the issue at hand here. If so can you explain the challenge that you're attempting to overcome here?

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Hello Curtis,

It seems you can not place a symbol in a Title Block...

Hi soctavio,

No we can't create symbols nested in a title block definition, but what we do is place symbols "in" the title block, or maybe more accurately on the title block.

For instance, if I had this title block:

Titile Block2.JPG

I would edit my template and set these symbol "in" it, and save the template so that these 3 symbols (as well as the rev block, tolerance symbol, etc., are in place and ready to go.

Titile Block.JPG

Of course if these "blocks" don't ever change in the title block, you could just make them part of the title block definition, and forget about it I suppose.

I do a lot of automation, and prefer to have things "modular", so that the symbols can be swapped out as needed.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis
