The system cannot open the device or file specified

I recently had to run a system restore on my pc due to something I goofed in the registry, and the rollback uninstalled autodesk inventor which I've only had on the device for a few days. When I try to reinstall inventor I get an error saying 'The system cannot open the device or file specified' (attachment 1). I then get sent to the homescreen on the installer client, and if I click install again I get a windows prompt saying 'The system cannot find the file specified. C:\Users\Jonathan\AppData\Local\Temp\_AIC991.tmp\x64\inventor\inventor.msi' (attachment 2)

I've used revo uninstaller to get rid of any stray autodesk software that may be giving the installer a headache, and I also cleared out the autodesk folder in appdata and neither of these appeared to help. I also don't have trend micro so that's not the issue. Installing a trial copy as was recommended on another thread didn't work either.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Try the Virtual Agent:

if that doesn't work, might get a bit more help on the installation / Lic forum

This posting is about an installation problem.  You have a model issue and the Autodesk Virtual Agent has nothing to do with missing component files in a model.   The Virtual Agent is used to install the application.
