CAD Challenge 005, the Hell-ter Skelter. Instructions contained within the below video, email address for submitting your entry is in the description of the video.
Challenge is to get the marble to roll down the slide and into the provided cup, using MCAD (i.e. not Blender/3DS Max/Maya etc).
Challenge will close on Saturday 20th June 2020 where shortly after, I'll upload a 'how it's done' video along with the names of all those who submitted a successful entry!
Initially, when I saw this challenge, it looked easy. I'd done a tutorial on something similar, and it looked like a quick job.
So I attempted it on the very first day, with the expectation that I'd send you the result in a matter of minutes. But boy was I in for a surprise.
I did almost 50 different setups and simulations. I made lots of errors. I got frustrated - couldn't believe that rolling a ball downwards was that hard.
But I finally did it today.
