Text height does not match Text Style

I am setting up title block templates to match our AutoCad templates.

I started a new IDW and began to edit the styles. I set up text styles to match the text formatting of our AutoCad templates.

One of the styles I set up was RomanD at 0.240" text height.

I started to create the drawing border under the drawing resources in the browser.

I used the 'define new zone border' tool. Within that tool you are supposed to define 'default drawing border parameters'.

One of the options is to use your text styles for the sheet zone labels.

So I select my RomanD 0.24" style. The drawing border is created, the text style is used, BUT the text height does not match that of my selected style.

The text height is 0.18" rather than 0.24". To fix this, I now have to edit each individual zone labels and manually set the text height. This essentially makes setting up text styles useless to me.

Is there something I am missing?

Also, now when I edit the text height, the 'Style' drop-down menu is greyed out.

Could you attach a drawing? I don't have this behaviour. Would be interesting to see how your drawing behaves.

Also, which version of Inventor are you using?

Hi,

don't forgot to set Text Style when you define new zone border. Change "Standard" style to you "text style".

I am going to take a guess at this one.  I suspect that your have created a text style but not assigned it as the "Object Default" for your border development.  In the Styles Editor, after defining your text style, make sure you have defined it as the object default for border text.  See my attachment for screen shot showing this setting.

I am using Inventor 2018

I have created the text style and set it as the default object for border text:

The text style font and height comes through but not the justification.

I have that style text justification set to mid/center, which is working for the vertical/alphabetical zones.

But the horizontal/numeric zones come in as top/mid and bottom/mid justified.

If I double click to edit one of the pieces of text; the style is notated correctly and the justification is correct. If I click 'OK', the text changes to what it is supposed to be as prescribed by the text style.

However, when I close and save the sketch, then insert (or edit) the boarder, it reverts back to the incorrect justification.

I have attached the IDW

Hi! I see the issue now. It does look like the justification settings are ignored in the dimension style. It is probably because the justification is dictated by the annotation layout in the dimension style. It looks like only the font and the text height is honored in the dimension style.

Many thanks!

Hello lrodriguez0917,

I might be wrong but I have tried what you mentioned and cannot reproduce the issue.

Please try the followings:

* If you don't yet apply the latest service pack/update then please apply.

* Reset Inventor setting with the reset utility from here.

If you will attach the example file then we can take a look if there is something wrong.

Thanks,
