Task Scheduler not scheduling

I've used TS ever since I can recall, never had too much issue.

But of late I've mainly used it as "Immediately", haven't actually had the need to set a time for a process.

But now I do and it's not working.

It'll take the schedule for the process but when the time comes, nothing. All it does is change the "Next Run Time" status to "Never", but the "Status" stays at "Scheduled".

This is for checking out a file from Vault.

So I do the same process but select "Immediately" and it works fine.

Set the schedule to check that file back in, nothing.

I have a massive process that I need to schedule, I need this to work.

Any advice?

Any chance the password for the user changed?

Nope, it's the same one I've always used.

Good point though

BTW - I've sent this on to Adesk, have a tech on it as we speak.

He too is having these same issues.

Updates coming.

Yep, I just tried to schedule a check-in and nothing happened. That's bad.

Exactly....not good for a "scheduler" that doesn't, well...schedule

Yeah, like you I usually use "immediately", but for others that need it working in the background, well...

Hi Guys,

I don't recall we change the behavior here. I suspect it might be Windows security related. Try this. Run Task Scheduler as Admin. Does it work now?

Many thanks!

I ran it as administrator, and I can see it opened a dialog and tried something, but afterwards the file still wasn't checked-in.

Nevermind, It's because it was checked out to me on a different machine. That's always confusing.

Looks like running as administrator did work.

I'm attempting to run as admin but either I have massive lag time in the process or there's something wrong as it will not allow me to select the needed check boxes shown below (typically these are autoselected I thought)

***Nevermind*** Operator error as always...lol

Yeppers! I can validate, Running it as Admin does indeed work for scheduled processes.

Slight problem....running a scheduled Check Out as an Admin does work, but running a scheduled Check In does not!

Ugh

Adesk, can we get some help here?

****Hang on.....it just dawned on me, TS never requested to log into Vault nor ask for my password as it does for Check Out. Re-running the task...Update in a minute***

***Update - Nevermind, it does indeed work. I'd like to know why it didn't prompt me the first time for my Vault credentials. All's good.

Another wrinkle for the scheduled Check In process.

Each time I run the process, it fails and kicks an error that Inventor needs to re-register.

Ugh!!!!!

Found the failure cause...it fails in the process of creating a dwf file.

So if you do like we do and have dwf files being created at check in, this process seems to fail.

Now I just need to figure out if we in fact, need to have dwf created at check in as opposed to release state change.

OK, so here's a summary of being able to schedule a task in Task Scheduler.

Performing a Check Out of files (using Vault):

1. You must open Task Scheduler as "Run as Administrator"

2. You can only select one file at a time. You cannot use Shift or Control keys to multi-select

3. When selecting numerous files, the Select File from Vault process resets back to the root level and thus you'll need to re-navigate back to the active folder you are working in. Very time consuming if you have a lot of files to select

Performing a Check In of files (using Vault):

1. You must open Task Scheduler as "Run as Administrator"

2. Unlike the Check Out task, this one allows you to multi-select using the Shift or Control keys

3. If you have Vault auto-creating visualization files on Check-In, this option must be disabled manually at the Check In Files state by selecting the Settings button and de-selecting the check box for such
