switching from educational to purchased product

I've worked with Inventor Professional for about 2 years. I have Inventor 2015 on my computer. My purchasee order says that I should get Inventor 2017. I would rather have Inventor 2015 as the product that I purchased. Should I uninstall my Inventor 2015, and then download the new product, or can I have my Inventor 2015 purged, and converted to a purchased product? I know their is a certain way you do things on Autodesk. That's why I'm trying to be very careful. I'm, also, doing some semi-serious work on producing  carbon free energy. Can I get some help?

In general, you cannot purchase older releases.

Don't uninstall it yet ...

Get the 2017 if that's what you want ...(I'd do that if you're buying it)    Get verything updated and set up how you want ...DO A BACK UP before you start migrating it the files over to 2017, or working on them  and saving them.

When it's all set up and you're good ...use the Autodesk uninstall tool and remove the 2015 items
