switch idw template from imperial to metric system

Hi,

Im creating my own idw standards, we use metric instead of imperial. What I have noticed is that when I try and create a new template (using the shift+Ctrl and selecting new document from the ribbon) that the template is created with inches as default... I would like t know how I can change this too metric.

Go to Tools>Application Options>File tab 

and set your defaults.  (r2014 shown in image)

Looks like Autodesk dropped the ball on that dialog box, but you can always type in the units yourself.
