Sweep Command

Hi Guys 
I have attached a multi body part that has sweep commands in them.
I then want to change the path but the sweep command created its own 3d sketch and doesnt seem to use the original sketch I created for the sweep.
Why is this as then I have to delete all the lines in the 3D sketch and re create a path

I couldnt select the original sketch because it wasnt visible .
That sorts my problem
