Survey: Inventor Performance

Q.  Would you fully support the Autodesk Inventor product team in temporarily stopping work on any new features for Inventor, and instead, dedicate a couple of years and all their resource to working ONLY on making Inventor perform much faster than it does now?

Specifically referring to converting more of the application to being multi-threaded, so it can use more than 1 of the many increasing CPU cores that modern architectures have now.

Please note this is a personal survey and in no way has this been actually discussed with Autodesk, there is nothing to read into here!

Hi Georg,

Many thanks for signing up Beta! Your participation is very helpful to the product team. I understand what you are saying. It is indeed frustrating sometimes to see an idea or proposal not getting enough attention. We try our best accommodate the requests satisfying most of the user base. But, the truth is that there is no way we can fulfill every wish. This is not an unique problem with Inventor. All product teams need to balance constraints.

There are tons of good ideas on Ideas forum and Beta forum. We need to prioritize them. For the ones not being fulfilled, we need to do a better job explaining why. Another way to look at it is that some of the requests, if not all, actually can be done via iLogic or API.

Thanks again!

@Neil_Cross

 If you don't understand what kills performance how will they know what to address to fix the performance?

 I don't think the performance has anything to do with the computer if I can make an assembly perform better without using what I addressed. I believe that falls on how the software handles itself.
