JD,

I am using 2015 Inventor and I don't have the thicken option in the 3D Model /modify box.

It is there - they hid it in 2015.  Look in the drop downs.

JD,

I request and received a step file of a pump. I received a surface file produced with SolidWorks. When I open the file and expand in the browser I right click on the composite1 and turn off the Translucent option and then try both options Stitch and Sculpt but keep getting errors that the Create stitch failed and Create Sculpt feature failed. I did find the Thicken option under the Modify Panel. I tried that option but did not have any good results. Normally I don't have problems with Step files only with surfaces composites. Any help will be welcomed.

Regards,

Adolph

The file is missing several surfaces - it would take a couple of hours to repair this model.

Can you request a better model from the source?

Ask them to try to re-import the STEP file and run SolidWorks Import Diagnostics.

The screenshot below is from SolidWorks on their file.
