SURFACE AREA

HOW TO CALCULATE INSIDE AREA OF THIS PART ?

There is probably some kind of fancy way of doing this to get an exact figure, but how about calculating from an imaginary rectangular box ?

2WD+2HD+HW+8FD - should give you a rough estimate. Note that I excluded the open end (HW).

(F = height of the 4 flanges)

HI!

 

I would create the inside new solid and then you have the volume and area of that solid.
Some surfaces and and SCULP will do the trick.

 

You can share the part and we take a look on that.

Hi! Another way is to get the perimeter of the profile. Edit the sketch creating the extrusion cut or create a new sketch and project the edges. Go to Inspect -> Region Properties -> pick the profile. The perimeter will be shown. The area will be the perimeter times the extrusion depth.
