Hi Ray,

Let me share some background information about this particular item. Originally, suppressing a pattern element (component or feature) per Model State was indeed in scope. However, due to internal testing, we found out there was serious performance and capacity concern. The behavioral model particularly with the variable number of pattern instances can be very complicated. As a result, the decision was to make it a factory scope edit for the time being.

Many thanks!

If you want a solution while waiting on Idea Station votes, you can suppress pattern elements using iLogic and trigger the code with a Model State change.

See here for the element suppression code: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/cannot-suppress-pattern-element-using-ilogic/m-p/35759...

Hi Peter,

This is a very interesting workaround. The catch is that you still cannot show two Model States with different pattern element suppress status. You will need two iam files to do that. It cannot be within one iam file.

Many thanks!

Good point!  It may not be the 'answer' the OP is looking for after all.
