Hello, I am modeling parallel manipulator and links are translational joint with universal joints on both sides, but when I add them to the main assembly and try to connect other components with them I can not select one part of the assembly only whole sub-assembly.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.  To make it easier for others to help you, can you provide some more information?  What version of Inventor are you using?  Can you share some screen shots of what you are working on, and where the problem is?  Thank you and good luck.

Two things from your description:
1. Right-click in window and switch to "Part Priority" to select individual parts.
2. In your flexible assembly (which is a subassembly of your main assembly), you must leave at least one part unconstrained so it has the freedom to move in the upper assembly into which it is placed. Once you place it in your main/upper assembly, you can constrain the moving part to something in that upper assembly.

Hi Richard,

Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and the graphics driver is updated. If you are on 2024, please install 2024.3 update.

If there are preexisting failed constraints, either fix it or delete it. Another possibility is the subassembly contains adaptive parts. Adaptive parts usually have reduced degree of freedom.

If nothing above helps, please share the files in zip here. The forum experts can help take a further look to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hello, Thank you for help. I am good now. Problem was in the incorrect length of translational joints.
