Sub-Assembly Model State Not Updating in Parent Assembly

This is annoying me so much at the minute!

 I have linked sub assemblies and it just will not update. I tried adding another model state for closed option to see if it made a difference switching between that and master, but no luck.

I am on inventor 2022.

Why did you set up the flexible subassembly?

You have set to edit the "factory scope" for all model states:

Whenever you try to set a subcomponent's model state with that factory scope on, it will set the subcomponent's MS for all your main assembly's model states.

You can click on the small pencil icon in the browser, or under Manage > Author panel dropdown > Edit Member Scope, then proceed to link the model states for each MS in your main assembly. Good luck!

Was just the first idea of getting this to work. Just forgot to turn it off is all.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. However, I have tried with factory scope both on and off yet I still haven't had any luck. I have linked model states each time I changed from factory scope to member scope

You're welcome. Without a sample I would suggest recording some quick video if possible, to help us investigate or replicate the issue. I'm still unconvinced it isn't the factory scope playing tricks on us, but hopefully not.

Hi! It seems that you are trying to use Model States to replace Positional Reps. It should work to certain degree. Please share the files in zip with me directly [email protected]. I would like to understand the behavior better.
