Style Conflict Synchronize

Hello, for the life of me I can't get this message to clear.

My desired end-goal is to have an Custom_Part.ipt to use to create parts. I want to add some custom materials we commonly use to this part. I want to avoid have sync errors when I create a part using Custom_Part.ipt.

I have used the read/write project > Save workflow to try to get my local styles to be overwritten by the template one, however the style conflict remains.

I do notice that the errors are for materials where location is 'both'. My purge command is blank.

I don´t know if that directly relates, but I noticed that at a certain point the read/ write states in parts changes without any interaction and that usually results in an error. You can try check that Windows Explorer wise. Also you can try a custom material library, I think that solved it for me. Once any prefab material was gone, it worked like it should.

Are you opening the template directly and saving the local styles within the template to the style library? Looks like you've created a new part from the template instead from the screenshot.

Hi Dan, thanks for the response. I think I was just trying to show the error. I did do the read/write save from the actual template file first.

Some new information that I've noticed is that the project I save the material info to creates new parts with the template.ipt file just fine. The style conflict throws when I change my project.

Screenshots attached show the saving from template and style conflict after changing projects.

Thanks Logos,

I don't exactly understand what is meant by checking that windows explorer wise.

I will look into creating a custom material library to see if it helps. It will be a bit before I can look into that though with upcoming schedule.

Hi Aaron, this sounds like both projects are pointing towards different design data folders - is this correct? If the template contains the correct styles, when activating the IPJ that throws the error, if you SAVE the styles to the style library this should resolve the issue.

Hi, the behavior matches the theory, but I think my projects point to the same design data folder. Do the screenshots below show how that could be/ is controlled?  Ty for your efforts.

I've managed to clear all but one of my style conflicts. I removed all the custom materials from the template and my library. I rebuilt them from scratch and it's working as intended. I'm not sure there is a way to do the second option described in the error text, "If the style definitions in the template are intended for the new document, remove these styles from your style library using the style lib manager."

My workflow there would be to remove the style from the library, use the UPDATE command to get the info from  the template into the library. It didn't work for me. My advice, just blow it up and put in fresh. Perform a SAVE > Yes to All in a read/write project once completed.
