Stress Analysis

Hello,

I am trying to find out the force required to crush a hem and how much an end bent down slightly (so it hits the bottom before hem is finished) would it affect the force needed. I am having trouble finding a way to solve for these in stress analysis because when I simulate this the part ends up passing through its self. Is there a way to stop this or a simple way of finding this force. Another problem is, I need to put in a higher number for the force then what should be necessary to get the same results. I've attached a picture of this uncompleted hem.

Inventor's FEA package does not understand plastic deformation.  You will not get accurate results for this type of problem.

Look into the higher level simulation packages from Autodesk or other vendors that understand non-linear problems.
