Stress Analysis with multicore CPUs
Hi! Here is a list of processes supporting multi-threading and multi-core operations. Yes, the stress analysis is one of them. In theory, more cores may lead to faster operations. But, the entire process time is not just spent on CPU. It can be influenced by memory and disc speed. You can try it and see if it makes a difference.

Hi! Inventor isn't fully multi-cored/multi-thread. But Stress Analysis (and some operations) should be multi-cored/multi-threaded.
But, I don't think any of the operations would use 100% of the CPU cores. Certain operations are not multi-threaded and cannot be made multi-threaded, because of the serial nature of the compute.
I would make sure I have adequate system RAM (at least 32 GB). Otherwise, any modern CPU should work just fine. If you are seeing a particular performance issue, please share an example here. I would like to understand the issue better.

It looks like Inventor is using only 8 of my 32 threads for fea. I was just wondering if there is a way to change that and speed up analysis
Hi! I suggest you look into Fusion Simulation, which performs the compute in the cloud. And, you can still work on design in your desktop.
