Stop Autodesk components from launching themselves on startup

A couple of the autodesk functions keep launching on startup even though I've disabled everything and removed autodesk desktop. Specifically Autodesk licensing service and autodesk desktop delivery application.

How do I stop those from running themselves? Autodesk desktop is uninstalled.

Hi!

If you disable Autodesk licensing service, you will be unable to start the software.

Since the software needs a login, is specifically that service that manages that login.

Licensing is run as Windows Service.

You can try set it to "Manual".

Don't complain if everything stop working 😉

Licensing use about 50MB RAM.

If you need that 50MB RAM, you have problem with your computer.

You would think it could be launched upon launching the application though. kind of a silly design.

Setting the Licensing service to Manual might get it to load when IV run.

Doesn't mean it'll close after IV closed.

It'll take long of IV to start.

So why are you trying to stop it?

Computer running slow?

Out of RAM?

Stopping that service and uninstalling Autodesk desktop manager.... i guess is not a good move.... since both will manage the software authentication... furthermore, with windows updates, the Autodesk licensing service used to be updated, and at least, Autodesk desktop manager will help you on that.

I just don't want unused applications running in the background.

Why would an autodesk application be installed so integrally with my operating system that disabling it could affect my operating system?

Ask Microsoft.

Windows wasn't designed to be completely separated like iOS and Android.

Lot's of program, libraries are linked and shared.

The 2 programs in the links I posted allow user to disable anything and everything.

Including the AutoDesk Licensing Service.

A service is a lower level program which need access and tie to the OS.

It is supposed to be running.  Stopping that before stopping all other programs using it will result in crash of those programs.

Usually nothing will happen but I will not be responsible for any damage on your computer 😉

Bruh, why are you trying to gaslight someone that having a running and unnecessary services non stop is normal?

I use autodesk once a month, why do I need my computer running this service all the time? And it doesn't matter it's only 50mb or whatever, add 100 apps like that and you're looking at 5gb of ram being leached by apps you aren't even using at the moment (because the investors are so money hungry that they thought it's a good idea to implement a virus like service to make sure nobody is pirating their precious software).

It's a design, which is why I'll never pay for this software.

Hi there 

Did you ever find a solution for this? Autodesk's background apps are running in the background constantly despite being disabled for me as well, and considering most of their background processes are gathering user info that I never opted-into, I want these disabled, because Autodesk doesn't have a legal right to constantly be gathering personal data, like what websites I visit (look at the info page for what they collect with the ADPClient Service). Also these apps are causing a memory leak that's constantly causing almost 100% CPU or RAM usage on my computer, which is a known issue with their background apps for the last few years. 

So has anyone got a way to stop these from running at start-up, or otherwise getting them to only run when Autodesk's products are actually run/open, which is how they should be behaving?
