.stl files exported from inventor not correct scale

So im not too smart with cad, but when I go to 3d print a .stl file I exported it doesn't print the right size. Am I using the wrong file type, or is there something else I'm missing?

 Hi Ryan,

STL file itself is unitless. You need to make sure the Inventor export unit is in sync with your printer unit. I assume your printer is mm based. When you export to STL in Inventor, click on Options button in the dialog -> change unit to mm.

Many thanks!

This answer is incorrect.  The .stl file is still way to small as compared to the original file.  Does anybody else have any ideas.

Here is an idea - Attach your *.ipt file here and I will demonstrate how to get correct size stl.

Hi! I think the STL file was either exported in inch or cm. When you import it to Inventor, make sure you select "inch" or "cm" in Options dialog (Import or Open -> Options).

Many thanks!
