Splitting An Imported File. Error Message.

I have been given a 3d scan of a vehicle with four wheels which are not attached to the vehicle (see attachment).

For reference I am using the 2024 version of Inventor.

I am also new to using Inventor so I am not that proficient with it.

I was told to "right click and 'split by non contiguous' at the surface level. Then each one can be right click 'create new part from surface' to then allow you to move them independent of the car body.

When I right click there is no spit option and when I use the split function from 3D Model it comes up with an error message saying "The selected component has no volume."

I need the wheels to be attached to the vehicle in order to run a CFD simulation.

I am struggling with this and cannot find any help online so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The ipt you sent is a mesh file. It would need to be convert before you can do anything with it.
