I feel like I'm having a massive brain fart on how to accomplish this here; but how do I get any sketch to make a spiral pattern down a cylinder like this? I am trying to create a part that can be cut on a laser tube cutter, and I'd like to be able to do the oval cuts differently than I have now.

Follow the Spiral PlzFollow the Spiral Plz

Side Note: There needs to exist an option for tangent-to-face plane created sketches' to be able to be cut tangent  as well. You shouldn't be able to make something in better detail in the real world than in CAD. Why can I not cut a tube in the software exactly how a CNC laser would be doing it in the real world lol??? This will go to ideas even though I 90% certain this could be accomplished with a surface model.

Found this

Step 2 under Task 2 is bananas. That Extend Icon does not exist in Inventor 2020 and step is not possible in Inventor 2020.

I got it to work. My sketches and features are visible, the IMAGINiT material is mostly correct: Ignore Task 2's steps all together as that's insanity.

Notes from this experience:

There's a decent amount of old and new Inventor things that are out there conflicting one another. Interns need to be hired to catalog all the data on this site.

Organizing data a huge issue for a lot of people and companies; it grows so fast. However, when someone like me adds to a problems that has been posted, or essentially adds redundant material due to site responsiveness issues, wouldn't it just make the most sense to catalog it into folders for the general issue, and then for the Inventor version of which they're experiencing that? Yes this requires more input from us, but if that means I can find what I want in less time that great!

I hope quarter-to-quarter-profits are not stopping this company from understanding this. Interns are free or cheap: Be smart Autodesk, organize the data in an exceptional manner.
