Software Problem, Cannot load up Inventor

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hey there! I am a college student currently learning CAD/CAM software.

After I updated my laptop to 8.1 for Windows, my Autodesk Inventor crashes upon loading, saying that (And I quote) "A software problem has caused Autodesk Inventor to close Unexpenctedly".

I have tried uninstalling this part of the Autodesk suite and installing it back up, but still no hopes :'(.

I tested to see if the whole of Autodesk wasn't working, but as far as I know, it's just the Autodesk Inventor part of it, and (unfortunately) the most important part of my learning of CAD software.

I have diagrammed the problem I keep coming across below.

Are there any suggestions? I'd think to come here; you're much better at finding out these sort of problems than I am 😄

Thanks,

George!

I read this several times and I still don't see where you mention critical information like -

What version of Inventor?

Service Packs and Updates installed for whatever version of Inventor?

Information that you ever, in fact, filled out that dialog box with problem description and email contact?

Ah I'm sorry!

It's Autodesk Inventor 2016

Windows 64 bit

I haven't a clue what version it is (like I said I haven't a clue about all this)

I have previously sent a report saying what was wrong and what was the problem, and given my E-mail address. I am still currently waiting for a response. I'll see what comes up and see if they can diagnose this problem.

Sorry if I'm a burden at giving out key information my friend.

Specs of your laptop or PC?  Does it meet the requirements for Inventor 2016?   What graphics card do you have?   Taking a screen shot of the Customer Error Report dialog is not going to help.   If you did send the CER to AUtodesk, have you heard back from them?

**FIXED**

The way I fixed this problem is that I had an upgrade to Windows 10, which fixed this problem loading up the software, and now is in working order (hopefully for more than 10 minutes Smiley Very Happy)

I think the reason of this error message was becasue of my OS (Windows 8.1) at the time, as this occured straight after I downloaded it(it also worked before Windows 8.1 as well).

Sorry I couldn't get out much information to you before, but hopefully I won't have to come back here baring problems again!
