SNAP GRIP Feature - disable preview (very fine tool)

Hi,

Is there a way to disable preview during Snap Grip feature?
If I move large number of parts (or big assembly) the performance is pretty low.

I noticed that Snap Grip is not popular function here but it's really nice tool for large and static assemblies (like steel structures). It should more better promoted and developed!

Hi! I am not aware of an option to turn off the preview in Grip Snap. If you like Grip Snap, you may want to take a look at Assemble command. It works similarly to Grip Snap but it allows you to create constraints on the spot. The performance may be slightly better.

Many thanks!

Thank you for the response!

I know Assemble tool, it is also a nice feature but in big assemblies I prefer to work without constrains at all. This approach has many advantages (performance impovement, fast relocatind big group of parts without search in the browser for constraints).

I used to work in automotive where very large, complex and fully fixed assemblies are normal.

I believe if Autodesk learn users how to use this approach Inventor could me more competetive.

I wish Autodesk will add a Show preview button to Snap grip function in the future 🙂
