Smart Components in Autodesk Inventor. Automatic holes in other parts

I have a predefined part with holes and I want to drag and drop it to Assembly, so that it would create predefined holes into mated parts automatically.

In Solidworks this is done via "Smart Components" feature. I wonder if similar feature exist in Autodesk Inventor?

Hi! There isn't an exact equivalent workflow in Inventor. The closest workflow is called Copy Objects (adaptive bodies). You may edit the other part in place -> go to Modify tab -> expand it -> Copy Objects -> pick the "tool" part -> set the output as associate surface. Then use Sculpt or Split to create the desirable features.

Many thanks!
