SLOW sketched symbols

I am trying to make a sketched symbol.  It is a fairly simple one.  A circle with line through the center.  The top half will contain a view name, the lower half will contain the sheet number.

I am having various issues with it that i am trying to solve.  But the one that has frustrated me to the point that i had to come here and ask advice is.  The thing is RIDICULOUSLY slow.  I insert the symbol, and it takes 15-20 seconds before it even appears on my mouse cursor (that time spent with a standard windows loading icon)...when i place it, i get another 20-30 second long pause where inventor is essentially frozen.  Then it will place the symbol and is ready for me to place the next one.  I get the same behavior if i try to move it after it is placed.

Any idea on what may be causing this?  and anyway to speed it up?

1. What version of Inventor are you using (including, of course, Service Pack and Update)?

2. Can you attach a file here that exhibits this behavior?

1>  Inventor 2016 SP1

2> Attached is the drawing file.  This is a template i am working on, so the model attached doesnt really matter. If you would like me to attach that as well i can.

I can verify the slow behavior - but not sure why it occurs.  I think this is one for Autodesk.

A couple of thoughts though,

I tried to get rid of all extraneous stuff as the file size seemed unreasonably large.

There were 4 AutoCAD Blocks that I could not delete?

I would not try to use AutoCAD stuff in an Inventor template - I would create a clean template entirely within Inventor.

Was this migrated from an earlier release of Inventor?

Edit: I experimented some more and was able to get two more of the AutoCAD blocks deleted (after deleting the Cover sheet.)

So then I went backwards and found -

After deleting LuttrellLogo AutoCAD Block from the Cover Sheet the Sketched Symbols worked as expected.

I had completely forgotten those ACAD blocks where there.  I have been cobbling together this template in my vary sparce free time since INV2014.  I will see what i can do to purge these things and replace them with something pure inventor.  Thanks!

Just posting to confirm.  I redrew the logo as a sketched symbol, then deleted the block, and the problem is fixed.
