I am newbie to Inventor, I want to create Tab and slot interlocking model, but when I scale the model, size of the slot get change and thickness of the material is constant so it get loose.

Kindly suggest, how to handle this.

Thanks in advance.

Did you fully constrain your scetches?

I think a picture of your scetches/part would help solve the question

I have created test file having sheet thickness 2.5mm, if at any point of time if I want to scale the model then I want slot width to be remain constant (2.5mm),  I mean to say that while scaling the part how can we take care of the thickness issue so that it remain constant. Thanks.

How are you "scaling" the model?

That is probably not the best technique to use.

Can you create a completed assembly (the hard way) that illustrates your Design Intent.

Once your true Design Intent is understood - someone can demonstrate the most efficient technique to use in Inventor.

Hi! When you use Derive Part, the scale applies to all bodies based at origin point. If you want to keep the slot size, you should use Direct Edit -> Move -> Faces. instead. Or, you can derive it and change the slot size using Direct Edit.

Many thanks!
