Slits along curved surface

Hi all,

I am modelling a surface model of a helical staircase (steps not yet modelled). I would like to cut some equispaced, rectangular slits that fit perfectly along the railing of the staircase. Any elegant ways of solving this?

I can't open the part file because we have different versions of inventor, but can you tell me how you did the circular part of the staircase? This will let me know how to best help you. Was it a sweep, coil, or sheet metal?

Hi! This can be done via a 2D sketch and 3D wrap-around sketch. Please take a look at the attached part. Let me know if more information is needed.
