Sketch with a broken reference cannot be opened or edited

I've got a big, fairly complex IPT and I made a change to it which broke some geometery (a Finish change, oddly enough). No matter, I'm used to this, I'll just fix the reference.

Problem is the reference sketch cannot be opened, edited, recovered, etc. I'm loath to delete it because the geometry it creates get referenced by loads of stuff downstream and rebuilding it all would be a nightmare. I can double click on this broken sketch all day and nothing happens. Sketch 45 and its projected loop are both broken and uneditable.

I got stuck like that about an hour ago this morning (although not with a Finish Feature).

This worked for me:

Move the End of Part marker to just below the offending sketch.

Save, restart Inventor (to clear the cache)

Open the part.

Right-click > Edit Sketch.

There isn't even an "edit sketch" option available when I right click it. I did move the EoP marker where you suggested and rebooted the whole situation and nothing changed.

Does " Redefine " come up as an option when you right click?

Inventor seems to lose which plane a sketch is drawn on very easily in the last few releases

That's why I keep 5 OldVersions.

I guess you can't attach the file?

This was actually it! An extrude further up lost one of its loops somehow and that broke the sketch plane.
