Simulate Moving Web

Does anyone know how to simulate a moving web  like the YouTube video below (31 secs)?  I'm pretty competent on Inventor and Inventor Studio but struggling with the web movement.

Is there software that can achieve this if inventor cannot?

Your help would be much appreciated!

I'm pretty sure this was done in an animation program like 3DS Max, which you have access to if you're subscribed to the PD&M Collection:

I don't think Inventor has the capabilities shown in the video since it wasn't really meant for that, it can probably be done, but it would require a lot of setup and likely some custom code.  It'd probably be faster and better to just learn 3DS Max if it's available to you.

How much experience do you have with Environments>Dynamic Simulation and Publish to Studio (from DS environment)?

Can you zip and Attach your assembly here?

We do have access to 3DS max but might be a bit much to learn at this (completely new software) moment in time, I'm juggling 3 projects. I will look at using this in the future though!

I have never used dynamic simulation either. This may be easier than using a new piece of software like 3DS Max. I haven't got an assembly yet. I think if i could get a methodology of an image or a block colour entering and leaving a roller on a web I'd be very happy!

turns out we didn't spend the money on the inventor package with dynamic simulation

I think you could still do this entirely in Inventor Studio - but it would take expert level experience and a week or two of effort.

This reference might be too far removed from your problem for you to relate how this technique could be used - but if you can follow some of the logic....

Oops, wrong reference - that one doesn't have the step-by-step set up and narration.

Back in a bit...
