Showing thread dimensions-Inventor in imported reference model from Fusion 360

Is it possible showing thread dimensions in imported reference model from Fusion 360 ?

How we can do it ?

Hello @gyuneshmehmed,

Fusion interop is part of AnyCAD technology which means the importing is based on geometry level rather than features. In this case, thread is a texture rather than a real thread (geometry) in fusion, that's why we can't bring the thread information in.

Do you mean the thread designation? if so, the answer is no.

User have to manually add a new thread command to define a thread designation on top of imported geometry.

There is no much difference between import a stp file vs fusion file.

My job is to use the details made on the Fusion 360 and draw them in Inventor.

But I have a problem with showing the size of the threads itself in the drawing,

and I can't show the details from the Part List.
If you can explain to me if there is no reason why the thread sizes

are not showing I would be very grateful.

Hi Gyunesh,

Like Xun mentioned and you already found out, when you link or import an F3D file, only the geometry comes through. The parameters and features are not propagated. The behavior is similar if you link an INV file in F360. As you can see, there is room for improvement in this workflow.

Do you mind if I ask if you could have designed the part in Inventor from scratch? Do you have to use F360 to design the part?
