Sheetmetal ramp

I need a sheetmetal ramp created so I can get a flat pattern.  I have attached an assembly witch gives a view of the intended finished product. The ramp will not produce a flat pattern due to the manner it was created.  Can this ramp be made in a way to produce a flat pattern ?

Hello,

You also need to attach the .IPT files.

Not just the Assembly file

Attach the .IPT and .IAM files in a zip folder.

Else we can't open the assembly.

Thomas.

Welcome to the Inventor Forums!

First, an .iam file is just a link to the individual parts files -- so without them, we cannot open the .iam and see what is your problem.

Second, you might also want to indicate which version of Inventor you are using -- if you are using an older release, like Inventor 2015, then you will not be able to open any modified part or assembly file that the community might make with a newer version.

Sorry. Forgot the ipt. files.  Here they are.  I am using Inventor 2015.

Hello,

I have not got Inventor 2015.

So i can't do a model for you.

But i have attached a screencast. So you can see how to flat pattern the part that you have.

And apply it to your flat model, and flat pattern it.

Hope this helps?

Thomas.

Thanks for the help.  Is there a way I could save this file on my computer ?

Hello,

If you get your part. And copy what i did in the screencast, then you will have the same file as i have.

I have not got 2015, so i can't get you the file. As you can't open a newer release, on an old release.

Copy what i done, and let me know if you can do it.

Thomas.

I have had time to test your solution to the ramp creation issue.  The video you posted does not work  for me. The reason seems to be that the sheet metal  part has to be converted to a solid and new surface.  I cannot get this done .
