Sharing sheet metal rules with another project

I want to share a few sheet metal rules from one project with another project. When I save a sheet metal rule to the library, it shares it with all my projects. I only want to share it with one other project. I also can't delete the styles in the style library manager, I only can delete the styles by deleting the code in the file "sheetmetalrules" in the design data folder.

These are the steps I followed (I use Inventor 2019):

https://blogs.rand.com/support/2012/09/save-sheetmetal-styles-to-style-library-in-inventor-2013.html

Thanks in advance.

Lars

Right click on the rule in question and select Export...  Then use the Import button in your other project files.

Thank you for your reply. I already tried this, but then I get an error (see attached).

I just tried in Inventor 2020 and had no difficulty.  The appearance associated with the imported sheet metal style was written to the file as expected.  I guess you will have to track down why the appearance is not working in this case.

Also tried in 2019.4.3, again without a problem.

I just tried it on my own pc instead of on the workstation and it works. So I will try to figure out the problem tomorrow on the workstation again.

Hi! I guess you are trying to export a Library style. Make sure the style is available in the file. It should work.

Many thanks!
