Is there a way in Inventor to model shadows?
More precisely, in a part file I have a body, a point and a surface, and I want to find the projection of the body on the surface with respect to the point.
Thanks in advance.
Can you attach your file here?
Possibly within Studio, place a Light Source at the point in the Cab that you are using as the operators head. You might need to create a solid curved part rather than the curved surface that you now are showing.
Studio? Is it expensive?
Anyway I don't think they're going to buy it just for the visibility regulations that they ask me twice a year.
What I was asking is some expedient of you Inventor-ninjas.
Right now, as shown in the picture, I take a plane passing through the operator's viewpoint, I intersect it with the obstacles, I project theese intersections into a sketch in the above mentioned plane and I draw lines that represent the shadows... then I repeat the procedure with another plane... it's rather time-consuming.
The fact is I KNOW Inventor can do this, because of all the ray tracing stuff... it's just not available to us users.
Tips, tricks and ideas are welcome.
Studio is part of Inventor, it's the "Rendering" environment.
Blair was showing you it's already there
