Setting up multiple ANSI standard .idw templates

I am working on creating a set of new standard .idw templates for my company.  I need to create a template for ANSI A-E sized drawings.  First, I created an A-sized template, setting the border to the correct size and creating a new title block.  I then went into the 'style and standard editor' and created a new standard, object defaults, revision table, and note text (see Attachment 1).  I did make sure that my new standard is using the new object defaults.  I also made sure to make the new standard I created the 'active standard' in the document settings.

The issue that I am having is that my title block text is coming in as the default 'Note Text (ANSI)' which is the wrong text size and does not fit my title block (see Attachment 2).

I changed this in my new objects default and I can't seem to figure out why it keeps reverting back to the standard note text and not the 'ANSI-A Note Text' I created (see Attachment 3).

Note:  The revision table is also using the 'ANSI-A Note Text' I created and it is working just fine...

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! I suspect the object default was not set correctly. Or, the text style was not linked correctly. Please share the template file here so forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

Can you double check your object defaults and see what "Sketch Text" is set to? It should also be set to your new standard. Sketch text is what you want for text objects inside title block.

Also, it looks like you created the title block after you created your new style? If that's true, the text objects inside your title block may be created with the default style rather than your new style. And the text fields in your image (Attachment_2) shows text using "Note Text".

So, you can either create your title block after creating your new standard, or edit your existing title blocks to use you new standard.

When creating new text objects, just make sure you are referencing the correct standard and style in the text format dialog prior. This will avoid the inconvenience of having to edit the object and change it's style after creation.

To edit existing title blocks (See attached image)

1. Edit the title block

2. switch to the annotations tab

3. Click on the text you want to modify

4. Use the Format dropdown to change the text style

5. Save

Hope this is what you are looking for and it helps.

Thanks

I opened the template I was working on and hit 'update' next to the 'styles editor' icon.  I then proceeded to open the title block and select each text instance and update the text standard in the format dropdown box under the annotate tab as you recomended.  This seems to have solved my problem, thank you!
