Setting the Unit/ Type from cm to mm

Hi all,

A common question is how do I set inches to mm (imperial to metric) and this is quite easy uoud in the options dialogue box under the file tab and clicking on the Configure default template button...

great I managed this but now Inventor is working in CM rather then MM how can I fix this?

Bart, Did you also change the Document Settings of the part? On the Tab - Units there is the Length option, is did set to mm-ers?

Hi, bart_van_tuyl! Just follow the steps in this image to change the document units:

Also, if you want to change your Part or Assembly template so you don't have to do this for each new document, you can determine the location of your templates by going here:

Then just open the template type you want to change and change the document units as I described above.
