Setting Model to White

Hello all,

After scanning through the forum I haven't found a definite solution.  I'm using lots of screenshots of models to create work instructions.  We would like to have some of the models appear as they are, white plastic.  I haven't been able to achieve anything but light grey.  Inventor version is 2016.  Any help would be great.

Thanks,

-Phil

The "Standard" lighting Style that is used in Inventor is colored and not a true "White" light. This is probably why your appearance of the items appears incorrect. If you apply a "White" appearance to the part and/or assembly and change the Lighting to a true White Light your items should look correct.

I have a "reply" to this post (with pic's), that might help you

If you need this to look like line art within the modeling environment, just set the background color to (one color-white)

It's not that the Two Lights lighting style is off white, it's that it's brightness is set to around 50%.  All you do is edit the lighting style and crank the brightness and ambience sliders to the top, your model will be so white that it will be invisible against a white backdrop without shadows on:

Also the standard 'White' texture/appearance is ever so slightly off white, it's RGB is 245,245,245 so you can set that to 255,255,255 for it to be perfect white in addition to tweaking the lighting style
