Selection issue 2023 - Inventor /Nastran

Hi,

this is driving me a little crazy.

It has been going on since 2023.

(Windows 11, Inventor 2023, Build 158, Release 2023.0.1).

I have installed the update, the unistall because some additional issues.

It's about selection and clicking with 2023, almost always with a Nastran usage.

Often the cursor lose its sensibility to click and select, often withe the presence of the white cross cursor configuration.

It's not about the graphic card, no issue with 2021, 2020, etc.

Just 2023.

Most of time I have to close and reopen the files to solve.

Here just a recent sample.

Thermal analysis, 1 hour ago a was able to do that in 2023, now, apparently randomly, I can't do a windows selection.

Even afetr close the file, close Inventor and restarting the machine.

No problem with 2022.

I don't understand. Am I misisng something? Some setting? Is it some sort of issue?

Thanks

Attached a file, working with 2022, not selection (Convention Load , window selection in Nastran) working with 2023.

Hi Matteo,

Is this specific to NASTRAN? Or, the behavior can be reproduced without NASTRAN Add-In loaded?

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue

I believe that it is related to Nastran, but the issue is permanent even after exit after Nastran Enviroment

We see this, make sure you are not in the NASTRAN environment in ANY open Inventor file ( I notice you have a least 2 tabs displayed at the bottom of the screen )

Hi @MattH_Work

thanks, but it seems not related to that.

Here I can't select a face.

I have to close Inventor and reopen to do it.

I am having this same issue and it is very frustrating. It works in the modeling environment but when I open the Nastran environment, the cursor will not allow me to drag the selection window. If the cursor is not moving, there is no white plus sign, as I move the cursor, the white plus sign appears next to my cursor arrow. It's not continuously present, it flashes, glyphs, and glitches as if it is a bug. I have to completely reboot to make it work in the modeling environment. Again, Nastran environment environment causes the issue. What can I do?

Hi! I believe this should have been addressed in one of the Inventor NASTRAN 2023 updates. Please install Inventor 2023 updates and NASTRAN updates accordingly.

Many thanks!
