I have been struggling to use "Cross section analysis" for structural design. I have created a design in an assembly and would like to know cross section properties as area and the second moment area. I start by creating a derived part from the assembly and as one solid only. The I create an advance cross section analysis and find that the second area moment is wrong compared to what I need.The second area moment is not about the axes as described. This really make no sense and need to be updated!
My workaround is instead to create a drawing (idw) and then create a section view. After that create a sketch, get the project geometry of the view -go to tools and hit region properties.
Any other workarounds wold be great
